The Allen-Bradley 1756-A13 is a 13-slot ControlLogix chassis that provides module housing and backplane connectivity for ControlLogix controllers, I/O modules, and specialty modules. The chassis backplane distributes power to each installed module and provides a high-speed communication path between all modules in the system.

Sitting between the 10-slot 1756-A10 and the 17-slot 1756-A17, the 1756-A13 offers the second highest slot count in the standard ControlLogix chassis lineup, making it well suited for mid-to-large-scale automation systems that require substantial I/O capacity without the full footprint of the 17-slot chassis. It supports horizontal mounting only and mounts directly to the enclosure subpanel via mounting tabs located on the top and bottom of the chassis.

The 1756-A13 provides a maximum backplane current of 1.5A @ 1.2VDC, 4A @ 3.3VDC, 15A @ 5.1VDC, and 2.8A @ 24VDC, with a chassis power dissipation of 5.4W and power consumption of 1.8W. The 1756-A13 features inherent time-stamping capability for Sequence of Events (SOE) applications, Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) for live maintenance, electronic keying to prevent module replacement errors, and comprehensive diagnostics for identifying system or field-side faults. It is compatible with the PanelView operator interface and works with EtherNet/IP and ControlNet communication networks.

Series B chassis operate between 0–60°C (32–140°F) at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, with an operating vibration rating of 2g @ 10–500Hz and an operating shock rating of 30g. Compatible power supplies include the 1756-PA72 and 1756-PB72. The chassis holds CCC, CE, CSA, cUL, KC, Marine, NRTL, RCM, and UL certifications.
