The Allen-Bradley 1746-OB8 is an 8-channel sourcing DC output module from the SLC 500 product line, rated at a nominal 24VDC with an operating voltage range of 10–50VDC. All 8 output points share a single common group, and the module draws 135mA of backplane current at 5VDC with no draw at 24VDC.
Signal delay under maximum resistive load is 1ms for both ON and OFF transitions, with a maximum off-state leakage current of 1mA and a minimum load current of 1mA. Continuous current per output point is 1.0A at 30°C and 0.5A at 60°C, with a maximum continuous current per module of 8.0A at 30°C and 4.0A at 60°C. On-state voltage drop is 1.2V at 1.0A, and surge current is rated at 3.0A per point for 10ms.
The module dissipates 0.775W of heat per output point for a total heat dissipation of 6.9W during normal operation. It features electro-optical isolation of 1500V between I/O terminals and control logic, providing reliable noise immunity in demanding industrial environments. The module includes a removable terminal block (RTB) for simplified wiring and maintenance, along with front-panel LED indicators for output status monitoring.
The 1746-OB8 is UL-listed, CE compliant, CSA, and C-Tick certified, and operates between 0–60°C at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, with a storage temperature range of -40 to 85°C.
