The Allen-Bradley 1794-IB16 is a high-density discrete DC input module designed for the FLEX I/O platform. This Series A module features 16 discrete sinking input channels rated at a nominal 24VDC. It operates over a wide voltage range of 10 to 31.2VDC, ensuring reliable signal detection even in systems with fluctuating power supplies. The module is designed to snap onto a required terminal base (such as the 1794-TB3 or 1794-TB3S), which provides the physical termination points for field wiring and the connection to the FLEX I/O backplane (FlexBus).

A standout feature of the 1794-IB16 is its support for "Removal and Insertion Under Power" (RIUP), allowing maintenance personnel to replace the module without disrupting the rest of the control system's operation. The front panel is equipped with 16 dedicated status LEDs that provide immediate visual feedback for each input channel, simplifying troubleshooting and system commissioning. It also includes integrated input filtering to minimize the effects of electrical noise.
