The Allen-Bradley 1747-L514 is an SLC 5/01 processor module the CPU at the heart of the SLC 500 modular control platform. A single-slot-width controller, it mounts in slot 0 of any 1746 modular chassis and is designed for small to medium automation applications. It comes equipped with 4K user memory and a built-in DH-485 communication interface.
The SLC 5/01 processor delivers a powerful ladder logic programming instruction set with support for subroutines, and provides a DH-485 communication channel capable of peer-to-peer communication response to message commands. Battery backup on the 1747-L514 protects the user program and data table during power loss.
The processor supports up to 3 I/O chassis with a maximum of 30 I/O module slots, and is capable of controlling up to 960 discrete I/O points or 480 analog I/O points. It has a maximum bit execution time of 4µs and an overall module scan time of 8ms/K. The embedded DH-485 port supports use of the 1761-NET-AIC Advanced Interface Converter, and the memory tables are accessible via the Allen-Bradley Data Table Access Module (DTAM). The module draws 90mA of backplane current at 5VDC with a minimum power consumption of 1.75W.
The 1747-L514 uses a 1747-BA lithium battery assembly with a 30-minute capacitor backup and a lithium battery rated for approximately 2 years of backup life. It is C-UL, UL, and CE certified, meets NEMA ICS 2-230 noise immunity standards, and operates between 0–60°C at 5–95% non-condensing humidity, with a 30G shock rating and 2.5G vibration tolerance at 57–2000Hz.
